Why Coaching?
|
| |
In a competitive exam, coaching is of crucial importance as every mark matters here unlike a university exam. Even one mark may make all the difference: a candidate may fail to figure in the list, or may get Group B Services instead of Group A Services, or may get Group A Services instead of I.P.S., or may get I.P.S instead of I.A.S. And, less number of candidates get qualified and most candidates get disqualified in a competitive examination whereas in university examinations most candidates pass and few candidates fail. Thus, in university examinations candidates can pass without coaching. The loss in this case is instead of getting distinction one may get first class or instead of first class, second class or instead of second class, third class.

What is Coaching?
|
Coaching involves imparting techniques of efficient acquisition of knowledge, techniques of preparation (suggesting proper optionals, books and priorities among various topics), lectures, supply of notes, tests, evaluation, suggestions, etc.
Choosing right optionals, involves taking into account scoring pattern, scope of syllabus, aptitude of a candidate, etc.
Studying right booksis important as studying clumsy books leads to wastage of crucial time. Hence, we suggest right books for the concerned subjects.
Fixation of priorities among various topics involves taking into account value in terms of marks and volume in terms of number of pages.
Lectures are given by professionals with years of rich experience. These are supplemented with clear and concise notes.
Tests are conducted for evaluating the performance of candidates and for offering appropriate suggestions.

Prelim
|
Of late, the standard of questions of preliminary exam has been raised as some of the choices given are very close which make the task of choosing a correct answer very difficult. To tackle this type of problems and other problems pertaining to the understanding o subject mater, we conduct lectures aimed at imparting necessary techniques and information along with regular objective type tests.
|
Main
|
Regarding the Main exam, we have learnt out of years of experience that most students are worried more about information rather than organisation without realising that organised information though less, gets more marks than more unorganised information. This difference is due to clarity which is a rarity. Clarity is our speciality. How to develop clarity will be explained during the process of coaching.

Why Prelim - Cum - Main Coaching or Main - Cum - Prelim Coaching?
|
Unfortunately, the Civil Services Examination is so structured with Prelim in May and Main in November that students have more time for Prelim and less time for Main. In terms of importance and also quantum, Prelim requires less time as it is only an eligibility test for appearing at the Main exam, and it has only one optional with less syllabus along with General Studies. On the other hand, the Main exam matters a lot in the ultimate selection. With two optionals, General Studies and Essay along with an Indian language and English language, Main is more than 3 M.A's. How can this be covered in about three months left after the announcement of Preliminary results? Hence, it is wise to prepare for the Main along with Prelim.
Still better is preparing for Main one year before as a part of Main-Cum-Preliminary Coaching as it requires a lot of time to acquire the knowledge of General Studies and two optionals, good expression and clarity.
