Civil Services Exam - Public Administration Prelims

Are there any difficulty areas

Theories of ogranization are considered by the candidates as most difficult area. But this myth exist because they have no proper guidance about the way the theories have to be studied. A "4C" approach should be followed to understand the theories i.e.,
  • First 'C' understand the 'C' ontext of the theories in which it was proposed.
  • Second 'C' analyse the 'C' oncept of the theory with its meanings, features, principles.
  • Third 'C' learn the 'C' onsequences of the theory on its application that includes both positive and negative.
  • Fourth 'C' is 'C' ontemporary changes that have occurred in the theory.

Questions are asked only from the scope of these 4Cs only.
4C approach to theories
- context of the theory
- concept of the theory
- consequences of the theory
- contemporary relevance of the theory
